School policies cover every aspect of school life. Below are some of our most important policies for your reference. If you want to know our policy on something that is not listed, please ask the school office. Please see our school policies below, should you require a copy , you can request this from the staff in the school reception and they will be happy to print you a copy free of charge.
What is Safeguarding Children and Child Protection?
Local Authorities and schools are legally required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This includes a broad range of issues e.g. Health and Safety, bullying, meeting medical needs, first aid, school security, drugs and substance use.
Child Protection refers to the process of protecting individual children identified as either suffering, or at risk of suffering significant harm as a result of abuse or neglect. The policies we have show the routes we take to ensure the safety of all children.
We have a number of Designated Safeguarding Leads who have received additional training in Safeguarding procedures. At least one of these members of staff are on duty when the school is open.
We are an Operation Encompass School
Operation Encompass is a unique police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership, which involves the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic violence incident. For more information you can visit the Operation Encompass website here.
